The Victoria Falls Illustrated: A Handbook to the Victoria Falls, The Batoka Gorge and Part of the Upper Zambesi River - a detailed guide to the Victoria Falls and provides insights into the natural history and landscape of the area. It is a valuable resource for those interested in the region's geology, natural history, and cultural significance. With four colour plates, thirty-two black and white, four line drawings and two maps. Cover illustration by Barbara Tyrell (born in 1912 in Durban and grew up in Zululand. Tyrrell trained as an artist in the 1930's and her interest in the rich and diverse dress of the tribes of southern Africa inspired her to document them. By the 1960s, she had recorded the costume and customs of virtually all of southern Africa's peoples.
Externally the original card covers are in good condition with some shelf wear and some minor creasing. Spine ends have some minor tears but the binding is tight. Internally, the content is clean with slight tanning to the pages. Photos provided reflect the condition in addition to the above description. Overall condition is very good.
