Rare soft cover guide about Tanganyika (now Tanzania) in very good condition - Published, “to give the visitor, or the intending settler, or the business man seeking new opportunities, a general account of this rapidly developing country and all that it has to offer”. Numerous b&w photographs throughout. One large fold out map. Many interesting period adverts that provide a snapshot of the 1950s, with information about the country and its people, travel by various means, sports and more. These guides were intended for travellers and not many have survived. Externally, the covers have some tanning and minor bumping to corners, there is a pin hole that extends through the first part of the book. Spine and binding are solid. Internally, pages are clean and complete, lightly tanned throughout, with pin hole to early pages. No inscriptions. Photos provided reflect the condition in addition to the above description. Overall condition is very good
