Rhodesia: Information for Tourists & Sportsmen (6th edition), published in 1910 by the British South Africa Company to attract both tourists and settlers to the region. This handbook, along with other publications, aimed to promote the area under the Company's administration. The handbook provides information about the region's geography, climate, resources, attractions, wildlife, hunting, amenities and agricultural/mining opportunities for those interested in visiting or settling in Rhodesia (later Zimbabwe and Zambia). The cover of this edition has a painting entitled, “A Glimpse Of The Victoria Falls”. There are a number of period advertisements at the front and rear of the book and numerous black and white illustrations throughout. There are four coloured maps, three of which are folding with no tears. The large foldout map of Rhodesia at the rear of the book has a tear. These handbooks are pieces of history and provide an historical insight to the past and are incredibly scarce.
Externally, original pictorial wraps with cloth spine. Wraps a little worn in places with some rubbing and bumping to edges and creasing but still tightly bound. Internally, pages are clean and bright. Photos provided reflect the condition in addition to the above description. Overall condition is very good.
