First and only edition, by "Brutus", published by the Central News Agency, Johannesburg, in 1922. This 32 page booklet is complete and staple-bound in the original published printed card covers. Following the December 1921 plunge in the global gold price from 130 shillings (£6 10s)/oz to 95s/oz (£4 15s), South African gold companies tried to cut operating costs by slashing wages — and weakening the colour bar enabling the promotion of cheaper black miners to skilled supervisory positions. The Rand Rebellion (aka the 1922 strike) was an armed uprising of white miners in Witwatersrand against the proposed changes. Externally there is a small tear to the top left corner and age related wear around the stapled binding and to the extremities. Age related toning to the covers and internal pages. Minor corrections in pencil reflected in the margin of some pages. An extremely rare copy and in very good condition for its age.
Photos provided reflect the condition in addition to the above description.
